Sowing seeds of Primordial Cause to Buddhahood

Seed of enlightenment will be sown into the mind of anyone who chant the Odaimoku, Namu Myoho Renge Kyo. This is known as the “Sowing the primordial cause of Buddhahood”.
Primordial Buddha in the 16th Ch. (Life Span of Thathagatha) of Lotus Sutra preaches that he has already attained the enlightenment in the remote past which is called the “Result/Effect” of Buddhahood.
The perfection of practices in the long virtuous path of Bodhisattva in order to attain that enlightenment is hence referred to as the “Cause” of Buddhahood.

What exactly is the Bodhisattva practice that leads us to the Buddhahood? It could be equalized to the recitation of Namu Myoho Renge Kyo with your voice as a meditation whilst propagating others to follow the same practices of Bodhisattva path.
Prior to his enlightenment in the remote past, Buddha (pre-enlightened) as a common human being much similar to us engaged in such practices and perfected them towards his enlightenment.

This original practice towards the enlightenment is known as the primordial cause of Buddhahood. It is revealed as it is in the Primordial Eight chapters of the Lotus Sutra.
Thence this most important doctrine, “seed” was entrusted to Bodhisattva Jogyo by the Primordial Buddha to propagate in the Mappo era, which manifested in the Odaimoku,
Namu Myoho Renge Kyo, transmitting us of the Mappo era planting the “Seed of Enlightenment” (Buddha Seed) in our minds, ensuring us the Enlightenment.

In other words, let’s say someone chants Namu Myoho Renge Kyo with his/her voice even with a very little faith yet feeling grateful.
That person will have the seed of Buddhahood sown into and grown in mind, precisely at that very moment. Potential of blooming into fruit & flowers lies deep within a seed at the moment of propagation.
Likewise blooming process of your Buddhahood through the merits of Bodhisattva practices (primordial cause of Buddhahood), shall begin with the moment you start reciting the Odaimoku with faith & joy.

Rest of process shall be perfected whence the practitioner continues and endeavor the path of Bodhisattvas similar to what previous Buddhas, Primordial Buddha in the remote past have conducted.
Your Buddha seed will be well cultivated with continuation of Namu Myoho Renge Kyo chanting.
It is the next step for us then to propagate this excellent practice to our fellow beings as much as possible with compassion. It shall ensure the perfection of our Bodhisattva practices.

Simply, ‘sowing the primordial seeds of Buddhahood’ is nothing but to recite Namu Myoho Renge Kyo with your voice.

In HBS we chant a prayer defining the Odaimoku as, Namu Myoho Renge Kyo which was revealed in the Primordial Eight chapters of the Lotus Sutra,
entrusted to Bodhisattva Jogyo that sows the seed of Primordial cause to Buddhahoood.

It is to ensure with proof that the Odaimoku which we are about chant in front of the Gohonzon (Sacred object of Worship) is transmitted to us undoubtedly from Primordial Buddha.
Thereby reciting the correct Odaimoku, Namu Myoho Renge Kyo we shall receive the merits manifested in our body and mind.

So, what happens when chant the Namu Myoho Renge Kyo which was revealed in the Primordial Eight chapters of the Lotus Sutra,
entrusted to Bodhisattva Jogyo, sows the seed of Primordial cause to Buddhahood?
