Ojogyo, Helping Practice

Ojogyo, Helping Practice

The original meaning of “Jogyo,” Help Practice, is subsidiary to Core Practice. In HBS, we call it Ojogyo that we help other people by chanting the Odaimoku. In short, we chant the Odaimokutogether with one to receive the divine Grace of Buddha such as healing illness, converting others or enrolling in the school you wish, etc. As s/he is pleased with the divine Grace, the participants look at her/his happiness to make it sure that it really blesses us.

The reason why Nichiren Shonin taught us the Odaimoku is that he would like everyone to live a happy life with practicing virtues now and in the future (next) life. Telling other people the Grace of our faith is as important as our Odaimoku practice. When someone receives the Grace of Buddhaand tries to tell it another person, we will have many of Bodhisattva members in HBS. And it is what Nichiren Shonin would like the most.

Ojogyo, Help Practice, for others gives you great divine virtues. Even if you did not pray for your own wishes, they would still come true without realizing because of your virtuous deeds through the practice. We, all the HBS members, know how enormous it is through the practice. Therefore, we foster and encourage to enhance our faith one another.
